We’re getting close to being on the road for 1 year. On 26-September 2017 we left Winterthur for a trip into a new life. At that time we didn’t know what to expect and we had no detailed plan of where to go. We were open to recommendations of people we met during our trip, followed our intuition or just decided the next stops based on the weather report. During those 12 months we learned a lot about ourselves, reflected on our recent lives and became clear of the things we want to do in the future. On past trips we’ve never travelled longer than 4-5 weeks together but the last 12 months we’ve been together 24×7 and we love it. For us, that’s what life is all about. Most people that we met admire what we do (and how we do it), but they also admit that they would never find the courage to do the same. Manyof them have dreams and are very creative in finding reasons not to start living them. We have some ideas on when and where to settle down again and one thing has become very clear to us – whatever and wherever it will be – we will work and spent time together.
For the last couple of weeks we did some zig-zagging based on administrative needs (e.g. like getting registered in Germany, exporting our car from Switzerland into Germany and getting German license plates, etc.) and visiting our families. We went from Lübbe/Spreewald to Berlin, from Berlin to Hannover, from Hannover to Zweibrücken and then on to Nussdorf/ Landau, continued to Rosenheim and Waging am See in Bavaria, drove back to Nussdorf, than on to Ballan-Miré in France before we now landed on the Isle-de-Ré. All within less than 3 weeks. From here we’ll go south to spend a week in Lot et Garonne before deciding which route we’ll take to Sicily.
