… well almost.
We can hardly wait to get back on the road again. Borders are opening up , we’re vaccinated and we got a new “home”.
After our extensive travel from 2017 to 2020 in our beloved Land Rover Defender with rooftop tent we felt it was time for an “upgrade”. The benefit of just traveling and sleeping in the car also has its disadvantage. Once we’d setup our base camp we lost some of our mobility. Packing up everything for just a short drive to the supermarket or places of interest, etc. was time-consuming and sometimes cumbersome.
After intensive research we finally found an offroad camper trailer to fit our needs. At our upcoming trip we will test if the Hero Camper Ranger will live up to our expectations. Starting in August we will hit the German, Swiss and French roads for 4 weeks with stops in Wattwiller (F), Villeneuve/Montreux (CH), Gilhac-et-Bruzac (F), Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne (F) and Sainte-Marie-de-Rè In between these stops we will only use secondary roads and take our time to explore.
As we did not want to miss sleeping in our rooftop tent we decided to keep it mounted on top of the trailer. First sleep overs exceeded our expectation and the build in kitchen at the back of the camper is pure luxury. Travelling and driving with a trailer will be a new experience for us (thinking about the narrow roads in France and our Defender’s turning cycle 😅) but we are open to the challenge.
Any way, we can’t wait to get started and will provide some photos and first hand experience in the coming weeks.
One Life. Live It!
